'Young Architect's Group' Volunteers

Are you an architecture student at UWE/UWEBIC and would like to get involved in education & outreach?

Our collaborative relationship with UWE allows us to academically bridge our communities, teaching our OCC session on Frenchay campus and allowing knowledge, experience and confidence to flow between the groups.


Who we are looking for:

Inspiring, friendly and enthusiastic UWE/UWEBIC Architecture (or related) students who would like to volunteer their time to encourage our young architects (aged 12-18 years).


What you'll be doing:

You will be assisting with sessions by supporting and encouraging students, answering questions and giving design advice to the students as they work on their given briefs. If you wish, we can arrange for you to run a session to practise your public speaking and leadership skills. Our teachers will always be present to support you.


What you'll need:

You will never be alone with our OCC students, so will not need a DBS check, but please bring your student IDs.

This is an opportunity to practise communication skills, boost your confidence and showcase your dedication to the development of the sector by supporting the education of young designe


When/where?

Mondays 6 - 7:30pm, room 1R001

University of West England's Frenchay Campus, BS16 1QY


You can come along as a one off, or attend multiple sessions - the choice is yours. Please do keep our staff up to date with your intensions so we can keep an eye on numbers. The OCC session timetable can be seen below. When you send you registration form, please include dates you would like to attend.


Term 1: Monday 15 September '25 to Monday 20 October '25 - 6 weeks


Term 2: Monday 3 November '25 to Monday 15 December '25 - 7 weeks


Term 3: Monday 12 January '26 to Monday 9 February '26 - 5 weeks


Term 4: Monday 23 February '26 to Monday 30 March '26 - 6 weeks


Term 5: Monday 20 April '26 to Monday 18 May '26 - 5 weeks


Term 6: Monday 1 June '26 to Monday 20 July '26 - 8 weeks
